Hello again my lovely blyssbeings. Over these past blogs, I’ve shared my interpretation of the first five letters in the word BLYSS. We are now at the final letter. Can you guess what the last “S” stands for?

It’s something that we all do in some way or another, whether we realize it or not. It’s one of the things that truly make us human. The word is SERVICE.

To me, service is not just about giving time or money in an organized way to causes or projects we believe in. I think it’s much more fundamental than that.

True service to me is about being fully engaged and present when we are in the company of another. To be of true service we must give 100 percent of ourselves so that the other person knows they are of value. And of course when we do that, the law of reciprocity kicks in and we in turn are served as well.

Of course being of service to the greater good is also important. Many an organization would cease to exist if it weren’t for the countless volunteers and financial supporters who serve the varied needs of humankind. 

So I ask you to wake up everyone morning and say out loud - “How can I serve?”  And then say “Thank you.”  To be of service and to be served. That’s blyssful living.
